Position Overview
The Business Development Manager will lead the expansion of our residential solar solutions business. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing effective strategies to drive sales and revenue growth, expand our customer base, and increase brand awareness in the residential solutions market. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the solar industry and a proven track record of success in sales, marketing, and business development. This employment opportunity is eligible for remote work, however, Hybrid or Onsite work may be required for candidates residing within a commutable distance to any of our corporate offices in the following locations: San Francisco, CA; Irvine, CA; and Teaneck, NJ.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development plan for residential solutions, including market research, lead generation, and customer acquisition strategies.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the residential solutions market, including partnerships, joint ventures, and other strategic alliances.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and government agencies.
  • Manage the sales process from lead generation to contract negotiation and closing, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Develop and implement effective marketing campaigns to increase brand awareness and generate demand for residential solar solutions.
  • Analyze market trends and customer needs to identify opportunities for product and service innovation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, finance, and engineering, to ensure timely and effective delivery of solutions to customers.
  • Monitor and report on sales and revenue performance, providing regular updates to senior management.
  • Willing to travel up to 50% across the country.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, marketing, or business development, with a proven track record of success in the solar industry.
  • Strong knowledge of the residential solutions market and the ability to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and industry stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze market trends and customer needs to develop innovative solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • A passion for the energy industry and willingness to learn and adapt in this rapidly growing industry.
