We are expanding our offerings and have several open positions currently in our NYC headquarters.
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are looking for an experienced Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Manager with a history of sustaining safe work environments in the construction industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, implementing, and managing the safety program for field operations, remote workers, and office staff in the new and existing markets.
Compensation: $110,000 to 130,000 (based on experience) + bonus

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with site EPC personnel to implement and manage a proactive behavior-based approach to Health & Safety. This includes a strong emphasis on personal responsibility, incident prevention and a management systems approach to compliance.
  • Create, Implement, and Manage internal safety programs aligned with OSHA/ISO and national/state/local standards
  • Standardize safety documentation including Job Hazard Analyses, Site Specific Safety Plans, Emergency Action Plans and Overall Company Safety Plan. Analyze current plans/processes and issue modification recommendations.
  • Collaborate with management team to create/implement a safety training program
  • Integrate documentation into digital platforms suitable for access, reporting, and compliance
  • Report incidents and safety performance metrics/updates to management team
  • Collaborate with HR and Operations management team to create/implement a safety disciplinary policy
  • Conduct internal office and field safety audits to monitor, track and report on safety compliance.
  • Perform field audits of subcontractors in coordination with field operations team
  • Proactively and reactively advise, communicate and collaborate with employees regarding safe work practices and program implementation
  • Perform incident investigations including root cause analysis and reciprocate with remedial action plans
  • Aid in personal protective equipment, tools, materials and equipment selection in coordination with field operation management and procurement team
  • Collaborate with bidding team to assess, mitigate or eliminate safety risks associated with prospective projects
  • Attend coordination and progress meetings
  • Coordinates OSHA reporting and posting requirements;
  • File all documentation required for the Safety Program File;
  • Evaluate contractor’s safety programs

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven working experience in the construction industry (prefer solar or electrical trades)
  • Minimum 5+ years working in the HSSE related role in the construction industry
  • Minimum 3 years in a HSSE management role in the construction industry
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Certification, Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or other BCSP certifications preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
  • Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and safety standards
  • Proficiency with Microsoft suite and construction management software packages (prefer Procore)
  • Competent in conflict and crisis management
  • Leadership and human resources management skills
  • Excellent time and project management prioritization skills
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
  • Ability to climb ladders up to 40ft.
  • Travel up to 100%.
