POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Lab Technician is responsible for the daily management of the lab and for collaborating with development teams on related tasks, such as board rework, modifications, part replacements, and mechanical assignments.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage lab equipment, resources, and electronic components
- Build test fixtures for power electronics prototypes
- Contribute to the development of power electronics prototypes
- Assist with testing of power electronics prototypes
- Perform rework of electronic boards down to 0402 size
- Implement wiring harnesses
- Maintaining a clean and organized lab
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Able to perform reworks of very small components under microscope or magnification
- Proficiency with basic lab equipment such as soldering/desoldering
- Experience with basic test equipment including meters, oscilloscopes, power supplies
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with power electronics inverters/drives
- Experience with electric vehicle high-power high voltage electronics
- Experience with the electric traction industry (bus, locomotive)
- Experience with EV battery systems
- Experienced in R&D/prototyping labs focused on power electronics
