The Distributed Energy (DE) team develops, invests in, and delivers distribution-connected solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in North America. The DE team offers the full spectrum of BESS and PV+BESS solutions – from integrated ESS hardware and software, project development and investment to asset management and operations.
The Senior Product Manager, Energy Storage, is responsible for strategic oversight for the successful commercialization of Q CELLS integrated Energy Storage System (ESS) offerings in the Commercial and Industrial and Community-scale Storage and Solar-plus-Storage segments. This position reports to the Head of DE-Products and Services, or other senior management personnel as designated by the Senior Vice President and/or President of the Company. This position will be based out of our San Francisco office, with an in-office schedule that is set at the direct manager’s discretion in accordance with the company policies and procedures. Remote options could be considered for exceptional cases.


  • Oversee and elevate the Q CELLS Energy Storage portfolio within the Commercial and Industrial segment, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the market dynamics and customer needs.
  • Drive and own Energy Storage market research, competition analysis, and supplier tracking to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with the supply chain team to establish and foster long-term vendor relationships to ensure a reliable and efficient supply chain.
  • Collaborate with the system Integration team to drive product innovation and guide new development initiatives.
  • Lead the strategy and product development for microgrid applications, EV chargers, and new technology integration.
  • Take ownership of product cost and pricing strategies, ensuring competitiveness and profitability in the market.
  • Provide strategic guidance to the sales team on product features, applications, and positioning.
  • Spearhead the development of product documentation, marketing collaterals, tools, and processes essential for the success of the sales team.
  • Collaborate closely with internal software product teams to ensure optimal hardware and software integration.
  • Partner with the marketing team to create compelling content such as case studies, brochures, and external presentations.
  • Manage the new product launch process, ensuring seamless market entry and sustained success.
  • Monitor the entire product lifecycle, making strategic adjustments as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by senior management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in engineering or related fields. Advanced degrees are preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of hardware product management experience in the Solar and/or Storage segments.
  • Strong communication skills with a proven track record of building relationships and working in cross-functional collaborative teams.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time, either domestically or internationally.
