FlexRack is an integrated solar company that offers custom-designed, fixed tilt ground mount and single-axis solar tracking systems in the commercial and utility-scale solar mounting industries. FlexRack also offers full services, including engineering, geotechnical, pullout testing, field, and layout design services to address the actual site conditions of a project site. FlexRack has completed over 3.5 GW of solar racking installations in over 40 U.S. states, 9 Canadian provinces and across the globe.
SUMMARY
We are currently looking for Sr.Quality Engineer in Manufacturing who is responsible for ensuring that the inhouse manufacturing of galvanized steel structural tubing meets quality standards and specifications. This position will support plant level process improvement activities as well as assist with developing and implementing quality control procedures and policies.
This position reports to the Production Manager, or another management personnel that the President of the Company may designate. This position is located at 500 Bailey Rd, North Jackson OH, and working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm Overtime and weekend working hours may be required as needed. This position is expected to travel up to 2%.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing and implementing quality control procedures and policies
  • Performing product testing and analysis to identify defects and improve quality
  • Collaborating with production teams to identify areas for process improvement
  • Supporting and instructing quality inspectors and or equipment operators
  • Conducting inspections and tests on raw materials and finished products
  • Identifying and resolving quality issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Coordinates with the Production Manager to develop and conduct training on quality standards, measurement devices, quality alerts, procedure changes, etc.
  • Performs periodic internal audits of the Quality System to ensure that it is effectively established and maintained in compliance with standards.
  • Manage relationships and product compliance issues with customers and agencies (UL, CSA, etc.)
  • Works with SQE to document customer complaint root cause investigations, product relation, and component rejections, while improving customer satisfaction by focusing on reducing or preventing customer complaints.
  • Ensure effective manufacturing process control programs that maintain focus on Built in Quality and prevention of internal rejects.
  • Regular attendance, in accordance with the company's attendance policy and supervisory assignment, is an essential job duty requirement for this position.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or a bachelor’s degree in engineering with a minimum of 10 years of quality systems experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Experience in structural steel tubing manufacturing based company is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the following: metrology, inspection methods, blueprint reading, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), manufacturing processes, structural tube-making process, fabrication process, welding, carbon steel, steel slitting
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Standards and Quality Management Systems required.
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical methods and experience with Six Sigma/Lean projects preferred.
  • Proficiency in creating, conducting, and analyzing data.
  • Ability to conduct complex problem solving and root cause analysis.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Statistical Analysis Packages.
  • Excellent communication skills within all levels of the organization.

  • Carry Weight: infrequently carry weight and/or lift objects (light to heavy) weighing up to 10 pounds.

  • Sight: frequent use of sight to detect images on computer, office documents, and office objects near and far
  • Climb: occasionally ascends/descends on stairway to get to office upper and lower floors
  • Travel: up to 2% as needed
