Qcells is currently seeking a qualified license holder to join our Lease and Power Purchase Agreement operations, collectively called “Third Party Ownership”, or “TPO”. The manager of license and code compliance will be responsible for acquiring and maintaining contractor’s licenses and ensuring code compliance of the lessor under these financial products within Axia and the Qcells dealer network. He/she will be accountable for ensuring that Qcells Service Solutions remains legally compliant with licensing reequipments in all operational states and jurisdictions. Additionally, this role will assist QSS and Enfin in ensuring that systems and processes yield compliant and quality assets.
TPO is poised to be the fastest growing segment of solar due to rising interest rates and the Inflation Reduction Act. Qcells is particularly well positioned to take advantage of this market due to the domestic content tax credit adder, existing relationships with dealers, and a quality point-of-sale financing platform. You will be part of the team that ensures we do it in a quality way.
A key requirement for this role is existing state general contractors licensing or the ability to quickly obtain in multiple states. Secondary requirements are experience with rooftop PV and storage. Residential electrical experience with significant enough experience to obtain licensing is a minimum requirement.
This position is based out of our office in San Francisco, CA, although for exceptional cases remote work may be approved. Travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

  • Acquiring and maintaining current state licensing
  • Acquiring licensing in new states
  • Maintaining all licenses needed to operate our fleet of PV systems
  • Remaining current on changing licensing environment and reporting to management
  • Advising of best practices for code and standards
  • Reviewing processes used to diligence projects
  • Participate in root cause investigation for failures
  • Inform management of changes to NEC that impact systems
  • Review system inspections as needed
  • Review dealer processes or installations as needed

Required Qualifications

  • 15 years of experience in electrical construction
  • 5+ years of experience in residential solar (preferred)
  • Ability to work cross functionally.
