Energy Project Proposal Director

Position Overview
Qcells is looking for an experienced Energy Project Proposal Director to lead the development and the delivery of business proposals in response to the Customer’s Request for Proposals or the related commercial requests for the development of community, commercial and industrial solar and storage projects across United States. This position is expected to be based in San Francisco. Reporting to the head of C&I Division or other senior management personnel that the Company may designate. This position will be based at Qcells San Francisco office.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing high quality, responsive proposals offering to external/internal customers.
  • Partner with development, project engineering/delivery, project analytics, project finance, and business planning team to prepare and submit effective and organized proposals to customers.
  • Review and interpret Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Qualifications (RFQs), and Requests for Proposal (RFPs).
  • With Development team, discover and understand customers’ primary business goals, operations, challenges, and requirements.
  • Establish deliverable matrix and develop/manage the proposal schedule and maintain the overall proposal scope of work.
  • Come up with strategies, delegate tasks, produce reports, and prepare presentations for clients or management.
  • Should be able to ensure proposals are delivered in a timely manner with required reviews and approvals with management.
  • Take an active role as an internal project lead for each proposal and drive the deal reviews with functional stakeholders and management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, such as in engineering, energy, environmental or sustainability field.
  • The candidate will have a strong background, ideally +10 years of related work experience in Renewable Energy, Energy Technology, or engineering/construction services. Should have understandings of how the power/energy and utility markets work.
  • +3 years of experience developing winning proposals or coordinating proposal responses in written documentation skills.
  • Experience using HelioScope, Energy Toolbase, or other photovoltaic system design and/or energy modeling software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English, both spoken and written.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with solar power and/or energy storage.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Passion to renewable energy future and desire to become an expert in this industry.
  • Project Development/Sales experience.
  • Project Management experience to lead/manage multiple projects/tasks with multiple stakeholders within the limited schedules.
  • Experience with large/complex project proposal of the contract values > $10Mn.
  • Master’s degree, ideally in engineering, energy, environmental or sustainability field, or similar level of energy-specific experience.
  • Record of attention to detail and analytical thinking with the ability to identify and solve potential risks and challenges.
  • High-level understanding of project engineering, procurement, and construction processes.
