QCELLS Enable is the EPC branch of Qcells for the Commercial, Industrial, Distributed Generation, and Small Utility Scale solar markets. Our position as a leading module manufacturer means we can offer end-to-end solutions for project developers and asset managers. We are expanding our offerings and have several open positions currently in our Teaneck, New Jersey headquarters.
SUMMARY
The Payroll Compliance Specialist will provide support and will use their expertise in Payroll Compliance to assist with the day-to-day management of HR operations. This person will work within the HR Team and own the payroll process along with managing the day-to-day function to oversee compliance reporting requirements for our organization. This position reports to the Director of HR, or another senior management personnel that the President of the Company may designate. This position is hybrid-based and will report to both the Teaneck, NJ office and the employee’s home office. Working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm or 9:00am to 6:00pm. This position may require you to travel up to 10% of the time.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Payroll and Reporting
  • Process various multi-state payrolls, as well as special payrolls (ie. severances and off-cycle payouts) to ensure employees get paid in a timely and accurate manner;
  • Ensure timesheets and time off requests are submitted and approved timely;
  • Manage PTO, salary updates, 401(k) deferral changes;
  • Oversee expat salary changes and admin pay calculations;
  • Must be well-versed in calculating sales and project incentive plans and payouts;
  • Be our payroll report guru and provide ad-hoc reports as needed;
  • Subject matter expert, the go-to person to resolve payroll compliance matters and continuously looks for improvements in processes and designs and implements those initiatives;
  • Apply for State and/or Local Employer Tax ID numbers as needed for wage reporting purposes;
  • Prepare advanced reports using reports in system and Excel, (ie. payroll reconciliation, monthly labor costs, monthly headcount, quarterly commissions, audits documentation);
  • Assist in providing the Corporate Finance department with monthly/quarterly/annual closing reports;
  • Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors;
  • Reconcile expenses;
  • Ensure the accurate and timely filing of payroll taxes, payments and other statutory information requests (DOL) in multiple jurisdictions;
  • Partner and collaborate with the HR Team on various aspects, including onboarding new hires, terminations, and other changes impacting payroll;
  • Maintain confidentiality of any payroll, private employee information and any proprietary information and ensures payroll information is secure;
  • Assist employees with HR related topics such as payroll inquiries, compensation, and other HR and company programs;
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and payroll tax obligations;
  • Train employees and leadership on payroll processes and utilizing technology;
  • Work with HCM & Compensation team to prepare the annual payroll budget report; will also be involved with the mid-year payroll budget reconciliation to submit to Corporate Finance for HQ reporting;
  • Other Duties as Assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or another related field in business administration
  • Minimum of 4--6 years working as Payroll & Benefits Specialist within multi-state payroll experience
  • Robust experience with HRIS systems, ADP strongly preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills required (vlookups, pivot tables, formulas)
  • Advanced analytical and strong modeling skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks with emphasis on meeting tight deadlines
  • A work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations
  • Be proactive and take initiatives for processes improvement
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational and time management skills
