What We're Looking For
We are seeking a passionate, motivated, and dedicated Greenhouse and Plant Breeding Technician to join our team. Genomines is looking for someone who will care for the well-being of our plants and make a significant contribution to our research and development efforts. The ideal candidate has a strong background in agronomy, knowledge of agronomy principles (physiology, photosynthesis, phytosanitary), an understanding of greenhouse cultivation techniques, and keen observational skills.
Role
As a Greenhouse and Plant Breeding Technician, your role will be crucial to the success of our greenhouse farming operations. You will be independently responsible for managing and optimizing the agronomic capabilities of our greenhouse, using advanced techniques such as heating, irrigation, and innovative cultivation practices. In addition to monitoring the growth environment, you will establish the tracking of crop development by integrating all analytical and technical parameters inherent to the greenhouse environment
Responsibilities
Greenhouse and Plant Care (at our site in Paris-Saclay, 91400)
- Cultivate and nurture greenhouse plants, ensuring optimal growth conditions
- Support irrigation processes consistently to maintain plant hydration
- Maintain a clean and hygienic greenhouse environment to prevent contamination
- Manage weed control, apply fertilizers, insecticides, and fungicides as required for plant health
Research and Data Management
- Assist with greenhouse trials, maintenance, and harvest of seeds
- Assist with crossing of plants, tagging, bagging, and seed collection
- Assist with plant phenotyping and phenotype data collection
- Gather, input, and evaluate agricultural data for analysis
Quality Control and Seed Handling
- Quality control: Ensure the quality of agricultural products through inspections and standards adherence
- Seed Cleaning/Packaging: Clean and package harvested seeds for distribution
- Seed inventory management: Manage seed inventory, including storage and tracking
- Harvesting and processing plant material
Requirements
- Minimum level: Bachelor's degree in Agriculture/Agronomy, Biology, Botany/Horticulture, or a related field
- Degree in agronomy, agricultural sciences, agricultural engineering, in a relevant field
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Excellent written and oral proficiency in English

- Ability to excel under high-pressure periods
- Proven competence in designing, implementing, and managing agricultural operations
