Hybrid (3 days a week on-site)

Why join us?🤔

We’re on a mission of ‘the atmosphere, restored’, and to be successful in our battle against climate change, we need as much help as we can get – including yours.

We’re looking for a Design Engineering Manager to join our team in Bristol on a hybrid basis, to transfer the integrated Origen process into a full design package for EPC handover.

And that’s where you come in.

What you'll be getting involved with!😍

A typical day in the life of our Design Engineering Manager will see you:

  • Managing the project portfolio of the team to balance the commercial needs and the generation of new projects from the R&D team such that the Design team is prioritised effectively.
  • Working with data from existing pilot plant data and findings to maintain a master version of Origen's process heat and mass balance.
  • Interfacing with both internal and external stakeholders on progress updates, outcomes, and technical issues.
  • Leading the development and delivery of engineering deliverables: H&MBs, PFDs, P&IDs, Process Descriptions, etc.

The value you'll add.😎

Looking ahead, you'll be working towards:

  • Defining and building the design engineering team with a combination of subject matter experts and general technologists to be able to fulfill team briefs.
  • Take existing Origen designs of the pilot plant, ongoing trials data, and previous 'pre-FEED' documents to create a design package for a FOAK full-scale facility.

To achieve this, you will be:

  • A people-focused leader in your approach to creating and developing a team.
  • Keen to build on your skills, knowledge, and experience by applying it to our technology.
  • Well-versed in the journey of producing a similar design package for a FOAK (first-of-a-kind) Process Technology.
  • Motivated by the challenge of joining an agile and dynamic start-up environment.

How you'll be rewarded!🤩

We know with absolute certainty that our people are what makes Origen awesome - and with hard work, comes high reward!

As an integral part of the Origen team, you'll get:

  • Unlimited annual leave 🏝️ no really, it's not a trick!
  • Share of our growth 🪴 we share our growth with you through our share options scheme.
  • Annual well-being benefit 💖 to spend on anything that benefits you!
  • Frequent team get-togethers 🤗 both with your 'direct' team, and all of Origen.
  • Flexibility & autonomy 😎 we trust you to work in the way that works best for you!
  • Transparent development framework 🚀 a clear, but personalised pathway for progression.

Our promise to YOU!💖

Our goal is simple: to benefit our planet and all who call it home — every single person.

Our culture at Origen is fair, inclusive and welcoming. We're looking to build a team that brings diverse perspectives to our business. We welcome healthy debate and difference of opinions. We're not limiting ourselves - everyone is part of building our company, including you.

People are at the core of what we do. Your voice will not only be heard, it will be encouraged in order to evolve our technology and our culture.

The journey ahead...🚀

We value innovation, and we apply that to all aspects of Origen!😎
