Position: Business Development Manager for BTM Solutions
Reporting to: President, BTM Division
Location: On-Site, Boulder CO
What we are looking for:
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to accelerate the growth of our BTM Solutions business. As a Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development and implementation of innovative technologies encompassing edge to software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions that enable customers to optimize the performance and economic value of solar, storage and EV installations. You will work with customers and closely collaborate with the Product Managers for solar, storage and EV as well as cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and partners to understand market needs and internal capabilities, identify opportunities, and deliver high-value solutions that address the BTM energy challenges.
You will develop go-to-market strategies for solar, storage and EV, identifying and prioritizing new markets, partners, OEM’s and product offerings from concept to fully realized channels to market, securing internal and external buy-in to deliver on Stem’s BTM growth objectives. You will think strategically about how Stem can simplify the complexities of integrating BTM energy system components while expanding the breadth of opportunities to create customer value through optimization of the whole BTM energy system. You must possess financial modeling skills along with a blend of business and analytical savvy.
Responsibilities:
Envision, model and analyze structures for projects that include solar, storage and EV as well as their integrated value
Analyze complex data, market drivers, competitive landscape, market opportunities and trends, potential channels, etc.
Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to develop financial models and structuring for RFPs, incentive programs, partnerships/OEM opportunities, and new market entry
Identify the TAM and competitive environment for solar, storage, EV and Stem’s Athena platform
Work with the Analytics team to leverage simulation and field results to inform business decisions and operations
Support sales efforts as needed
Required Skills:
A Bachelor’s degree in business or technical discipline preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Business Development in the solar and storage industry, with a focus on software. EV experience is a plus
Demonstrated ability to deeply understand customer needs, identify opportunities, and develop high-value solutions
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels and present complex concepts in a clear and concise manner
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically to develop innovative solutions
Exceptional mathematical and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Able to execute as an individual contributor, with a great collaborative spirit
A quick learner who is motivated to self-educate when necessary
Salary Range
$83,700.00 - $117,250.00Other Details:
Stem offers a competitive salary and a full list of benefits. The benefit offerings include full health benefits on the first day of employment (several medical plan options-HDHP and PPO, dental plans, FSA/HSA-with employer contribution, employer paid vision/LTD/STD/Life, variety of voluntary coverage), 401k (pre- or post-tax) on first day of employment, 9 paid calendar holidays per year, and participation in the Flexible PTO plan. This position is eligible to participate in the Stem Long Term Incentive plan, by granting Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). These RSUs will be awarded within the first quarter of employment and vesting 33%, 33%, and 34% on each of the first three anniversaries of the grant date.
