What we are looking for:

Stem’s Principal, Equity & Global Compensation responsible for enhancing and maintaining the compensation strategy and structure that will attract and retain employees, while meeting compliance and budgetary needs. This role scope is inclusive of Executive Compensation with the Stem Management team and the Board and company-wide base pay, bonus, sales and hourly incentive plans and equity programs. Stem requires a detail-oriented/analytical builder that can enable the business to continuously scale for growth starting in the markets we are growing: US, Canada, Germany, Spain, Japan and India.

This is an exciting time at Stem with the successful IPO in 2021, acquisition of AlsoEnergy in 2022 and the ongoing company growth/expansion. Stem is seeking a self-started, motivated to be our Compensation strategy owner and implementor as part of the overall HR team.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement and operationalize market competitive and compliant Equity programs globally.

  • Manage the Executive Compensation Committee equity and pay programs, budgetary/planning requirements and associated work backwards planning for quarterly reviews.

  • Oversee the Equity administration, mechanisms and employee facing communications.

  • Design and implement compensation base pay and incentive programs inclusive of salaried, sales and hourly populations globally.

  • Operationalize and maintain our company wide Job architecture (salary structure, salary grades, and market rates for specific jobs or functional areas).

  • Manage the annual pay related cadences inclusive of design recommendations to the senior leadership team.

  • Ensure market competitive practices inclusive of annual compensation survey participation, benchmarking process, and data analysis.

Required skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Mathematics, Human Resources or related discipline.
  • 5+ years' experience in a compensation capacity, building compensation and incentive programs, for a diverse population and levels.
  • 2+ years of equity plan support experience.

Desired Skills

  • 5+ years’ experience sales compensation experience.
  • Detail oriented/analytical skillset.
  • Cross-functional experience working with Legal, Payroll, Finance, HR, Accounting and Audit.
  • Mergers & Acquisition experience.
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll tools; Workday, Saleforce.com, etc.
  • Public company experience in a hi-tech company – preferred.
  • Global Compensation experience is a plus.

Location

Houston, TX or San Francisco, CA

This is an office based or Flex (hybrid office/remote) role with a minimum of 3 days in office.

Salary Range

$137,350.00 - $192,450.00
