UtilityAPI is a growth stage startup, scaling to meet demand for its services. Our work sits at the center of the clean energy revolution, helping to integrate the flow of data between utilities, utility customers, and clean energy companies. Similarly, the Senior Product and Market Research Analyst role will connect different stakeholders within UtilityAPI to the data, research, and market insights needed to improve our products and services.

In this role, you'll help to create a new research and data analytics function while also having ample opportunity for project leadership and professional growth. A successful applicant will join a diverse team, including marketers, product managers, strategists, and designers, with a culture of empowerment, safety, creativity, and autonomy.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop a deep understanding of UtilityAPI’s customers via a diverse set of research methodologies, utilizing internal and external data analytics tools to extract meaningful insights about our customers and product performance
  • Define analytics requirements for a diverse set of stakeholders, identifying and prioritizing key opportunities for scaling the business, target markets, and product positioning
  • Support the Executive Team in developing market assessment, including TAM/SAM/SOM, competitive intelligence, SWOT, and data room requirements
  • Think holistically across a customer's end-to-end journey to identify target segments, friction points, and product priorities
  • Prepare and present reports to highlight key product performance indicators and make data-driven recommendations
  • Support the Marketing Team’s initiatives related to improving targeted funnel metrics, launching new products, and maximizing the use of internal marketing tools

Your experience:

  • 4+ years of industry experience in climate tech, the utility sector, or electrification
  • Demonstrated quantitative and qualitative research skills
    • Critical thinking in setting up a model, reflecting in-depth understanding of climate and energy market dynamics
    • Expertise using analysis and reporting tools such as Excel, SQL, PowerBI, Tableau, Python
  • Experience providing consultation to diverse stakeholders, including technical and non-technical audiences

Compensation:

The estimated annual base salary range for this role is:

$110,000-$140,000
