The Role

Xos is seeking an individual who understands DELMIA, or similar applications, for the purpose of supporting the development of Xos’ Service bill of materials (SBOM). The SBOM will be leveraged in all aspects of after-sales support. An ideal candidate will also be familiar with service and parts operations in an automotive or commercial truck service shop environment. This associate will interface heavily with engineering and manufacturing groups within Xos for development and change management. This individual will report directly to the VP of Service.

**This is an on-site position at our Byrdstown, TN Manufacturing facility**

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end operations related to SBOM development and change management
  • Build and maintain BOMs, with emphasis on SBOMs, in support of downstream applications and processes and Coordinate with other BOM stakeholders within the organization
  • Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to identify and optimize serviceable components and processes to improve ‘Design for Service’
  • Attend Engineering Review Meetings and Change Board Meetings to ensure service interests are considered during the design review process.
  • Resolving issues by communicating findings to cross-functional teams, and collaborating with system owners (Electrical, Powertrain, etc) to deliver solutions.
  • Use fundamental principles of mechanical, electrical, industrial, or other engineering disciplines to support the design, evaluation, and improvement of new products as well as existing components and/or systems.
  • Using engineering skills to occasionally conduct analysis and modeling, engage in product design, develop, and execute testing procedures, and participate in facilities engineering work.
  • Participate in technical work such as performance and data analysis, parts measurements, tools and fixtures calibration, and equipment validation
  • Provide detailed feedback to Service and Engineering Departments when applicable of any issues that arise.
  • Travel to Service and manufacturing partners as needed basis acting as the subject matter expert to resolve difficult issues, reporting on the results, and implementing changes to ensure stakeholders are properly informed to avoid recurrence.
  • Commit to continuing education on current software and related applications
  • Domestic and International travel, with overnight stays, as needed for responsibilities - Up to 50%.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong working knowledge of Service BOMs is required
  • Working knowledge of vehicle service and parts operations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Sense of urgency, with the ability to work well under pressure
  • Experience in a start-up and hyper-growth company
  • Minimum of 3 years working in a similar role
  • Service and parts experience at the corporate or national level is a plus.
