Hydrogen Infrastructure oversees the safe, reliable, and affordable delivery of low or zero-carbon-intensity hydrogen we need power our planes. Creating strategic airport partnerships, their unique expertise in power markets enables them to mitigate intermittency and ensure the seamless integration of hydrogen into our operations

Cotswold Airport (Kemble) Join us at Cotswold Airport, home to some of our aircraft and the workplace of many ZeroAvians. Located just outside the historic market town of Cirencester, you’ll experience a workspace built by engineers for engineers. This is a high-velocity and fast-paced environment with good links to the M4 and M5, so it’s fitting that it’s also our UK Head Office.

We are seeking for an experienced commissioning and installation engineer to join our Infrastructure team. This position involves close collaboration with various engineering, project management and aircraft development teams within ZeroAvia, and plays a key role in driving the hydrogen and energy infrastructure via various use-cases, namely airports as energy hubs and as primary off-taker. The successful candidate is expected to possess documentation and installation skillsets in the hydrogen industry or similar, such as oil and gas.

Responsibilities

Support infrastructure FEED studies to ensure a smooth installation and commissioning process.

Creation of engineering operation documents, such as ITPs, C&E lists, FAT/SAT documentation

Participation in various safety studies, such as HAZOPs, LOPAs, FMEAs, etc.

Work with design teams to ensure safe and reliable operation, efficient maintenance process.

On-site installation and integration of high pressure and cryogenic components.

Integration of electrical and controls systems

Fault finding in PLC and MCC systems.

Technical review (and approval??) of external contractors or subcontractors

Liase, coordinate and communicate with project management, engineering teams and third-party clients.

About You

Time served engineer qualified to HNC/HND or higher qualifications.

Experience (ideally > 5 years) with industrial automation systems

Experience in working in an industrial environment.

Experience (ideally > 5 years) with high pressure or cryogenic installations

Experience in S7 1200/1500 PLC and TIA Portal for troubleshooting

Commissioning of VFDs and other control components

Cable specification experience ideal

A full UK driving licence

Excellent interpersonal skills

Advantageous

Experience in building LAN/WAN networks preferred

Prior experience in high pressure gas or liquid hydrogen

Ability to cross check installation to codes such as IEC 61508/61511 and BS EN 7671 / IEC 60364

Prior experience in hydrogen process safety, ideally with HAZOP, LOPA and general risk assessments
