Engineering designs our next-generation hydrogen electric engines. Working across Hydrogen, Propulsion and Integration divisions, they solve technical problems and help decarbonize aviation by finding solutions for electric propulsion, hydrogen storage, fuel cell technology, power distribution, thermal management and more.
As a System Test Engineer - Verification and Validation at ZeroAvia, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and reliability of the company's hydrogen-electric powertrain. You will be responsible for the thorough testing and verification of all system components, including hydrogen storage tanks, fuel cell systems, and electric motors. By conducting comprehensive validation tests, you will contribute to the development of a solution that not only eliminates carbon emissions but also offers a more cost-effective alternative to traditional aviation systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed verification and validation tests on hydrogen-electric powertrain components, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Develop and execute test plans and procedures to validate system functionality and performance.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to identify and address system integration issues.
- Design and implement automated test systems to streamline test processes and improve efficiency.
- Analyze test results and present clear and concise reports to the engineering team.
- Identify and troubleshoot any issues or anomalies that arise during testing.
- Participate in design reviews and provide input to improve the overall system performance.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and advancements in hydrogen-electric aviation technology.
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in system verification and validation, preferably in the aerospace industry.
- Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, including hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop testing.
- Proficient in using industry-standard tools and software for test automation.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and industry standards in aviation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
